Awards & Honors

Awards are a subjective distinction at best. The fact that a talented actor can win acclaim for his or her performance in a role should not necessarily be taken as an accolade for the play itself. Nor vice versa. On the other hand, when a play such as The Eight, for example, is nominated for a number of ensemble acting awards over a number of years, it probably says something about the show's potential as a vehicle for actors. Or when multiple productions of Poona become critics' picks in different cities, it probably speaks to the play's ability as a crowd-pleaser. That being said, the following is a highly-selective and incomplete list of honors and awards:
