The Mermaid Wars is a collection of comedic and dramatic scenes, monologues, and vignettes. Each piece presents a small view into life since August 2001, when the United States was the victim of a surprise attack by mermaids.

This reading is presented as part of SkyPilot Theatre Company's Monthly Happy Hour New Play-Reading Series. Join us for the reading, a talk-back, and drinks in the bar afterward.

In the future, pop culture has become so bogged down with new work of dubious value that nothing new of merit is being created. A select committee is tasked with deleting items from the cultural canon that are found to have low artistic and social value. But this secret tribunal threatens to become very public when one of the members must advocate for the deletion of a book written by his estranged, possibly delusional, father.
