It's upcoming! I let my SF rep know but I had a partner switch late in the game (constant rehearsal conflicts) and we are actually doing Gladiatrix Gossip! May 1st! 4/30/14
I know I know it's SUPER late notice - but it would really mean a lot to me if people could come to my capstone presentation (PS, it's funny - but not meant for the kids!) I wanted to create an event but time just gets away from you!! It's been a lot of work but after last night, this is going to be awesome!!! Capstone events happen tomorrow night starting at 7:30, I'm second in the lineup!

Pirates, gladiatrixes, fops and swashbucklers of all descriptions appear in this collection of nine different playlets filled with sword swinging, witty and amusingly risque repartee. Performance dates are July 18, 19, 25, 26 at 8pm in Sangamon South 0015 on the main campus of Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield. Admission is a suggested $5.00 contribution at the door (cash or check only).

LLCC Theatre presents "Your Swash is Unbuckled," a collection of nine short stage combat plays by Jeff Goode, July 18, 19, 25, 26 in Sangamon Hall South on the Lincoln Land Community College Springfield campus. The 8 p.m. performances feature pirates, fops and swashbucklers of all descriptions and are filled with sword swinging, witty and amusing repartee.
Admission is a suggested $5 contribution at the door (cash or check only). No advanced reservations are being taken.
Director Mark Hardiman, professor of theatre, describes the production as "ribald and rascally" and framed around the covers of romance novels. "There are lots of over-the-top, ultra-romantic love stories with rivals, rapscallions, pirates and brigands tangled up in every imaginable romance variation."
Even the costumes reflect this with handmade period corsetry by LLCC costumer Katie Eickhoff. "This gives us a chance to showcase all the great work our stage combat students have been doing over the years at LLCC," said Hardiman. "Performers use eight different weapon forms including broadsword, spear, single-handed broadsword, dagger, small sword, single rapier, cutlass and unarmed combat in nine different playlets, each around 10 minutes long."
The production deals with mature themes and has presentations of violence. It is suggested for persons aged 17 and up.
LLCC's theatre program values the expression of arts in all forms and the cultivation of arts and arts appreciation. The program embraces diverse and divergent world views while championing humanity in its complexity: its weaknesses and strengths, its failings and its successes.
