There are ten major public productions a year, together with three Youth Theatre productions and one from our junior group, the Hoppers. Our thriving Art Group has its own studio in one of the roundels and holds an annual exhibition. The Tonbridge Theatre & Arts Club is a registered charity, owned and managed by its members on a volunteer basis, with its objectives being the fostering of theatre and the arts.

Directed by Corey Atkinson

Hello my name is Corey Atkinson, and I am currently taking an introduction course to directing theatre and TV. I have been spending a couple of weeks looking for a short play consisting of a small staff for my final project piece and I happened to come across one of your clever works. Murder by Midnight caught my eye and I would like to use this short humorous murder mysteries for my final project. With your permission I would like to know if I can purchase four copies of your scripts? If possible can I also remove some parts of the scripts to shorten the 1 Act play due to some content and time duration. Thank you for taking the time to read my email and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello I discovered the script to your play Murder by Midnight on 10-minute-plays.com, and I am writing to you to get information about the performance rights. I am wanting to stage the piece for a directing class I am taking at McKendree University this semester. The classes final is a staged performance of the show we have chosen in front of an audience. Please get back to me with royalty information when possible so I can solidify your play as the piece I am to direct. I think it is hilarious, and I want to start work on it as soon as possible. Spring theatre production

Posted on April 21, 2016 Bethany College Theatre will close out the 2015-16 season with its bi-annual Festival of Student-Directed Short Plays, Friday and Saturday, April 29-30, at 7:30 p.m. in Burnett Center. Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for Bethany College students, staff, and faculty.

The first of the evening's six short plays is David Ives' "Bolero," in which a woman's world threatens to come apart when she and her husband hear strange sounds from the apartment next door in the dead of the night. Kalyn Powers and Isaiah Fabrizius take on the roles of the young couple in the play, directed by Landon Slipke.

In "Enigma Variations," also by David Ives, wacky shenanigans ensue as two look-alikes named B. B. W. W. Doppel-gŠnger attempt to solve an identity crisis with the help of, among others, Dr. William W. Williams and his nurse, Fifi, who may or may not be who Ñ or what Ð she seems to be. Linzi Garcia directs Landon Slipke, Carly Rosey, Natalie Nelson, Avery Holmes, and Amanda Barcus.

The zaniness continues in Jeff Goode's "Murder by Midnight," a delightful comic nod to the detectives of film noir fame. Hard-boiled hotel gumshoe Dick Piston has just 10 minutes to solve a brutal murder for a beautiful widow or risk losing the case to the day shift. The cast includes Isaiah Frabrizius, Micah Hirschler, and Brandon Divine.

Three wise guys. Attitude galore. A classic standoff between pistol-packing bad guys. Welcome to "The Tarantino Variation" by Seth Kramer, directed by Brandon Divine. Gilda Alvarez, Avery Holmes, and Natalie Nelson play the wise guys who have each other in their sights.

When the newbie tries to get acclimated on her first day at the new job, a co-worker ensures that it's going to be anything but easy in Stephen Brown's darkly comic play, "The Purg." Sabrina Wollenberg directs Carly Rosey, Christian Cooper, and Gilda Alvarez.

The evening concludes with "Battle Tactics" by Andy Haynes. "In a medieval fantasy world apart from time and place," a group of less-than-competent adventurers attempt to figure out a strategy for their next encounter with the Ogre King. Esther Weicht, Isaiah Fabrizius, Christian Cooper, and Avery Holmes appear as the intrepid adventurers in the production, directed by junior Micah Hirschler.

Dear Jeff,

I contacted you about 2 years ago with regards to performing your 10-min-play "Murder by midnight" at our festival in Redcliffe, QLD, Australia. However, none of the other theaters in the South-East region had a 10-min category in their Murrumba Drama Festival - until this year. Therefore, I would like to request permission to perform your play at our 1-act play night, which is a pre-requisite to entering the festival and then performing it at 2-3 other venues during the festival period (June-Sept 2016). Our 1-act play night at Mousetrap Theatre will take place on 3 June 2016, the festival weekend at Mousetrap will be held on 17-19 June. Amateur theatres in the regionn will then have their festivals on the following weekends. Could you please also let me know the fees for rights etc?

April 10: There will be a production committee meeting tonight, where we'll discuss your play. Other theatres have their festivals (as part of Murrumba Drama Festival) on various weekends between June and September, so once the play has been cast, it depends on the availability of the cast. We might just end up performing it at Mousetrap. It has to be performed 'at home' once before it enters the festival but I'd definitely want to take it round...but I will definitely confirm dates with your licencing agent.
May 24:
Dear Jeff, I am happy to say that rehearsals for your 1-act are going very well! Our cast is Craig Longoria (via San Fransisco) as Dick Piston, Susie Bushnell as the woman and Greg Jones as bellhop. My co-director is Sophie Even. Find attached a few rehearsal pictures of "Murder by midnight." Hope that will give you a bit of an idea about the energy and how the characters are developing on stage. We will be performing the production at the Mousetrap Theatre for their 1-act play night on 3/4 June as well as the 17 June for their Murrumba Drama Festival. Then, we have entered 5 other 1-act festivals around the Brisbane area, but apart from ACT1 Theatre at Strathpine/ Brisbane on 9 July, we have not had any slots confirmed. The other festivals are throughout August and September. I will let you know the other dates as soon as possible. Wishing you a great rest of the week, Cheers, Tanja Stanley

Hi Jeff, Back in 2013, Brickstreet Players performed Murder by Midnight. We have been asked to do a short performance for a semi private event and would like to perform this 10 minute play again. I apologize for the short notice, I misunderstood this site and assumed the $15 fee listed paid for the royalties. We have the scripts from our last performance, 2 of the actors are the same and the 2013 director is playing the role of Dick Piston. I just read the part about emailing you for cost etc. I can pay immediately by credit card. Please forgive my late request, the performance date is Thursday! We agreed to the performance (short notice that it was) because we had so much fun with your play and knew we could pull it together in short order. In lieu of cash payment for this performance, we are receiving an advertising credit of $100 to be used towards future print advertisement for upcoming auditions/performances.
