Halfway up the trail, I was stopped in my tracks by the sight of a delicate deer grazing (apparently on some dirt) on the side of the hill. This was certainly a good omen! Native Americans believe that if you encounter a deer while climbing a hill to the Hollywood sign, it could mean that you will write a play about reindeer and then move to Los Angeles.
