EXT. MAIN STREET - OUTSIDE THE COURTHOUSE - LATER THAT DAY

Andy and Barney head home at the end of a very long day.

                                      BARNEY
What's gonna happen to Opie now?

                                      ANDY
He'll probably be tried as a juvenile.
The most he'll get is a couple years at
the juvenile hall in Mount Pilot till
he turns 18. Aunt Bee can still drive
up and take him his lunch. And I'll
                          visit on the weekends.

                                      BARNEY
You gotta give him credit, Anj, coming
forward like that. That took a lotta
                          moxie.

                                      ANDY
                          Barney, I don't think I've ever been
prouder of that boy than seeing him
confess to the killing of Otis
                          Campbell...

                                                         FADE OUT

                                   END ACT FOUR
